I got my first tweet from a celebrity. And not just any celebrity. It's from one of my top two celebrity crushes during the '80s:
None other than Jane Wiedlin of the Go-Gos. After I wrote about her last week, I decided to look her up on Twitter and see if she was on.
I thought she probably would be, since she's kind of a cool geeky person from what I've heard, and sure enough, there she was.
So I'd been following her for a few days, and she tweeted about how she always mixes up Harry Dean Stanton and Richard Dean Anderson. I thought that was kind of funny, so I was going to tweet back that I always mix up Bill Paxton and Bill Pullman (which I do).
But then I thought, you know what, this is my first reply to Jane, so I should make it a good one. I should write something so funny that she'll feel compelled to reply (if she reads it). So I tweeted back that I always mix up Morgan Fairchild and Morgan Freeman. (I know, pretty good, right?)
And she tweeted me back. She said, "Yikes, that mix-up could go south quickly!!!"
That made my day. That seriously made my day. I mean, I've written before that I don't care much about celebrity, and I don't. But this was Jane Frakkin' Wiedlin. I had a huge crush on her back in the day.
Anyway, she's really cool. You should check out her website. And buy her comic book.
I know, I know, I'm a just fanboy after all. Shut up. And follow me on Twitter.
